San Jacinto girls romp in first-round of soccer playoffs

Except for a brief hiccup, the San Jacinto girls' soccer team romped to a 5-1 victory in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 6 playoffs over the Los Amigos Lobos of Fountain Valley on Friday at Tigers Stadium.

Baptist Christian girls' basketball coach Bryan Shifflett organized a challenging early season schedule for his Warriors. He pitted his Division 6 team against powerhouse schools two to four divisions higher. Schools with enrollments much larger, and often times with players bigger, faster and taller.

The San Jacinto Tigers boys' soccer team had plenty of scoring chances – nearly two dozen in all – and as a result, defeated the Riverside Notre Dame Titans 4-0 in a CIF-SS Division 6 playoff match, Tuesday, at Tigers Stadium.
