United Methodist offers grief counseling

The Hemet United Methodist Church Counseling Center is offering two grief recovery groups beginning in March. One is designed for recent losses, the second is designed for those experiencing multiple losses or struggling due to circumstances surrounding grief.

The groups will be led by a licensed counselor and are limited to six people. They will meet weekly for 12 weeks.

The weekly fee is $20 and includes a bonus book and work book. A 30 minute interview is required to determine the appropriate group for members.

Unitarian Fellowship monthly line-up

The Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship of Hemet and the San Jacinto Valley will host the following speaker in February at 10:30 a.m.:

-Feb. 12: Dr. Nick Reeves, MSJC professor, speaking on "Epignetics"

- Feb. 19: Marjorie Roberts speaking on "Poetry, Me and You"

- Feb. 26: Annual congregation meeting and friendly circle discussion led by Marvin Nottingham who will discuss "Should we be occupiers?"

 

Christian Women to meet

The Christ ian Women's Fellowship will meet at noon Feb. 15 at the First Christian Church located at 200 E. Acacia Avenue.

A potluck lunch will be offered for $2. Food items should be dropped off by 11:30 a.m. The meeting and the program will begin at 1 p.m.

The guest speaker will be Penelope Engard discussing stories of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's wife, Eleanor. Men are welcome.

Spiritual Living Valentine's lunch

The Center for Spiritual Living will host a Valentines lunch at 11:15 a.m. Feb. 12. The menu includes salmon, pork tenderloin, and side dishes.

The cost for adults is $5 and $2 for children.

 

Bible Fellowship offers Griefshare

Bible Fellowship Church of Hemet offers a Griefshare group. People who have lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend are invited to be with others who understand the hurt of loss. The special seminar and support group is for those grieving a loss and is sponsored by people who aim to understand each individual's experience and offer encouragement and comfort.

The Griefshare group will meet on Tuesday. Classes began Feb. 7 and they run from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. for 13 weeks. The classes are held at Bible Fellowship Church. For more information, call 652- 5885 or visit www.bfchemet.org.

 

Orthodox church meets other Sunday
