Democratic Congress trying to inhibit Bush

What's so hard to understand (letter to editor by Tony Garcia, “President Bush: Worse U.S. president in history,” Aug. 1)? The president “proposes” a federal budget. The House of Representatives votes on appropriations. Congress writes the tax code and sets fiscal policy. Is it too hard to see what has happened in the two years that the Democratic Congress has tied President Bush's hands and Pelosi, Reid, and their band of followers has led us to higher gas and food prices? Did Tony see that when President Bush approved offshore drilling, the price of gas went down 40 cents a gallon, BUT what will happen now that Nancy Pelosi vows to block a drilling vote or even dialogue occurring on the House floor, and Harry Reid echoed the same sentiment when he eliminated energy amendments to his anti-speculation bill, and Robert Byrd canceled committee consideration of spending bills? Seventy-three percent of Americans concur to “drill here, drill now,” but Congress refuses to lift the ban on offshore drilling.
