Time to register for flag football

It's time, football fans! Our next exciting flag football season is around the corner. Valley-Wide Recreation & Park District will offer a youth flag football program for the fall for kids in third through eighth grades. Don't wait until it's too late - sign-ups began in July and the season begins in October. Games are played Monday through Saturday at Valley-Wide Regional Park in San Jacinto and at Winchester Valley-Wide.

Division 1 is for third- and fourth--graders; Division 2, fifth- and sixth-graders; and Division 3, seventh- and eighth-graders.

The fee is $55, which includes team jersey and award. Registration should be taken by 5 p.m. Sept. 26 or at skills day on Sept. 2 at Regional Park.

A Chorus Line” at the Orange County performing arts center: In an empty theater, on a bare stage, casting for a new Broadway musical is almost complete. The field has been narrowed down to just 17 dancers. For these men and women, this audition is the chance of a lifetime. It's the one opportunity to do what they've always dreamed of. But before the final cut is made, the director, Zach, asks each of them to talk about themselves. He starts by asking their name, age, hometown, and reason for being a dancer. But Zach wants more than just their resumes. He wants to know about their families, friends, lovers, ambitions, and careers. One by one, they come forward.

We have great front-row seats! The performance is at 1 p.m. Aug. 24. We will stop at Sizzler restaurant before the performance for lunch on your own. The bus will leave at 8:30 a.m. and return at 5 p.m. This excursion cost $89 and includes a deluxe bus, escort, raffle prizes, and tickets to the show.
